SysMaster Announces MGCP Support for its VoIP Gateway

With multi-protocol support, including H.323, SIP, MGCP, ISDN, PSTN, and CAS, SysMaster's VoIP Gateway is one of the most versatile and cost effective gateway solutions in the industry.

SysMaster VoIP Gateway is a carrier-grade, H.323/SIP/MGCP/SS7/ISDN/PSTN/CAS compliant gateway that supports up to 480 PSTN/SS7 channels through E1/T1/ISDN/PRI lines and up to 1920 VoIP channels. The gateway routes all incoming calls via PSTN or VoIP channels based on custom routes for individual users. It supports G729A/B/AB, G723.1, G726, and GSM codecs capable of operating concurrently, proxy services, and multiple gatekeeper registrations. With an optional add-on module, SysMaster VoIP Gateway can operate as a callback gateway and initiate callback services via any of the following methods - Web, Email, SMS, or ANI.
The Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) is one of the standards for transporting voice over packet based networks. It was developed to simplify existing VoIP standards by eliminating the need for complex, processor-intense telephony devices, thus lowering their cost. MGCP assumes a call control architecture where the call control intelligence is outside the gateways and handled by external elements. In essence, MGCP is a master/slave protocol, where the gateways are expected to execute commands sent by the Call Agents.
