Emeryville, CA

SysMaster Corporation, the leading provider of Voice-over-IP billing and call routing solutions, announced today the release of advanced GR303 and SS7/C7 protocol stacks for its VoIP Gateway and Softswitch products. The new stacks are intended to facilitate equipment integration with major telecom customers.

“We developed the GR-303 and SS7/C7 protocol stacks to facilitate the integration of our VoIP and PSTN equipment with the voice and data infrastructure of major telecom customers,” said Michael Fahey, SysMaster Director of Sales. “The added support for both GR-303 and SS7/C7 protocols would enable our equipment to integrate natively with telecom Class 4 and Class 5 infrastructure. From a business perspective, that means opportunity to expand our targeted customer segments as well as to get exposure to new markets.”

GR-303 is one of the several Digital Loop Carrier Protocols (DLCP) that outline digital mechanisms for bringing a wide range of services to users through twisted-pair copper phone lines. By using GR-303, network access gateways can easily interface with central office (CO) switches, allowing service providers to implement new services with minimal impact to the installed network infrastructure. Typical applications for the GR-303 protocol are Voice over DSL, Voice over Cable, and Voice over Wireless Local Loop.

SS7 protocol is utilized in most telecom backbone infrastructures to allow scalable and robust digital voice and data management. The SysMaster SS7/C7 stack supports multiple implementations of SS7 signaling and data processing that include SS7 Media and Signaling Gateway, SS7 Signal Softswitch, and SS7 Signal Converter.
